Photos from the Petäjävesi show a week ago, courtesy of Hilja Mustonen. This show probably more than ever reassured me that Finnish hardcore is doing well in 2010. Please take a moment to check out Eye For All, Upright, Foreseen and Deadsunrise.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and made it a memorable night.

Photos from G18 in Bremen on April 10th. This was the last show of the tour. Photos courtesy of Jona of andXout Photography.

G18 has been around for 20 years now. It was originally a squat but now a group of people actually own the house. Hundreds of shows have been put up there. For example, Swing Kids in ‘96. Such a humbling feeling to leave our mark on a place like that.

We spent two days at G18 since we had an off day after the last show before we flew back to Finland. Danny (from Wasted Time Shows, who organized the show) and other residents of the house were extremely welcoming and helpful. And this was the case with most of the places we stayed at. So this is a collective thank you to all the kind souls who made the journey a more pleasant one for us. Especially to Joni, who was one homesick puppy. We are ever so grateful.

Some live stuff (mostly) from the tour.

Playing a show next week.

Tour documentary part 2 by Julian. Pretty boy might be right, but I say we need a more official closure to The Game. Will work on it!

Two steps forward, three steps back
Without warning, heart attack

Tour is done

Back home recuperating and getting back to the vicious cycle. Thank you to everyone involved!

The Game

I was originally planning to do more frequent coverage of “The Game” but there was a setback when we left our scoreboard to Luzern in the midst of a party. Plus that I’ve been a slacker.

The Game was originally an idea by Samuli to encourage members of our band to do stupid stuff during live sets. The idea grew to a battle between bands when we presented the idea to Ritual. When we could see the drive for competition in some of the members of Ritual have (that’s you Julian), some of us probably had second thoughts at that point…

The general idea of The Game is to perform certain moves during live shows. The moves are from a list gathered by attending parties. You get one personal point by succesful completion of a move. A move can be assessed by both bands after show if needed. You can get combo points for combining moves.

Then in the end all individual points are combined to get the points for a band. The band with more combined points will win. The losing band members will have to tattoo the name of the winning band on them.

We have now managed to get a photo of our scoreboard on our email. We are yet to go through it and add points gathered after losing the scoreboard, so I don’t really know the current situation. Right in the beginning Ritual was definately in the lead, right now it might be a little bit more even. I’m not keeping my hopes up though, being the pussies we are. And I already know where I’m having the tattoo, just to be sure…

I’ll let you know the end result sometime soon, it’s only two shows to go. And at least for archiving purposes I will also document all the points you can make, and what points individuals performed on what show.

Food from Salzburg, Austria (show #7). The drive from Milano to Salzburg felt like it lasted forever and I felt like shit because of a flu. Only good food could have saved me, and luckily it did.

The moment we walked in to the venue the food was waiting for us: bean stew with potatoes, carrots and chili plus fresh bagels. Absolutely felt the best thing ever. This could have been something I’d cook at home, and it was good to get some protein based food for a change. Just what a sick puppy needed.

And this wasn’t all. We were served a cake as dessert, which tasted like chocolate brownies. I tried to photograph it but it dissappeared from the plate too fast. 4/5.
